When my older sister saw the 1955 Chevy, she reminded me that Daddy(his name was Willie) had a 195o's Chevy that he'd wrecked the front end of. At the same time, my Uncle Hugo also had the same 1950's Chevy that he'd wrecked the back end of. My Uncle Junior, my godfather, had a mechanics shop at the time and got the idea that he should take both those cars, cut off the wrecked ends, and weld the good ones back together. So that's exactly what he did! My Daddy wound up driving that car and everyone called it "The Willie-Go Car". I don't know what ever happened to it...I'd guess he wrecked that one,too :D
Here is my mother next to their old car. I don't know what year this was, but before 1958, because this is taken at Hardy Court in Gulfport,Mississippi, before they bought the old house.
The rest of the photos are of my Daddy's 2 brothers when they were in the Navy, 1942 I believe, and my Dad when he was in the Army, before he joined the Navy.
So precious to have those photos. I have one of my father in his Navy uniform and one of his father (gramps) in his Army uniform. Both are gone now but so glad to have those memories. Thanks for sharing them with all of us.
