Burned Fabric Flowers...and Snow???

I've tried my hand at burned fabric flowers! You need to be very very careful making these, other than that...it's very simple and you probably have everything you need to make them already. Cut some wobbly circles in different sizes, at least 3 for each flower. I've used 6 and 7 circles on some. This fabric I've used all melts nicely, except the wool blend brown plaid. On some I cut out circles of tulle; that didn't melt good for me, so I decided to just leave the edges alone on those. I used a candle to melt my fabrics....just keep it in the flame and not above the flame where the soot is.

Here's a nice burgandy one. I used 5 melted circles layered together. I sewed it in the center with needle and thread and pulled tight to gather it; then i sewed several strands of 5 gold seed beads for the center. Will make a nice lapel pin!

And these are some different ways I put them together. The black one is coat lining with black tulle and a single gold bead in the center. Pearls make very nice centers, too!

have fun!
