Buttons and Bows! and More!!

I took photos of the stuff I mentioned in my post last night, about the goodies my sister brought and things I made.


Here are some of the buttons, kind of hard to see the ones near the bottom. A good mix of vintage and newer buttons. Time to make new bracelets!



Now, aren't these interesting?? I've never seen charms like these before. Maybe they're not charms. (the Coat of Arms ones from different countries) I'll need to see if I can find any information about them. And I've never seen a St. Dymphna medal before.
Ok, I looked that up....how interesting that I should wind up with a Patron Saint of...
"St. Dymphna is also known as "Dimpna" or "Dympna" and may be synonymous with the Irish saints Davets and Damhnait (Damhnade). Her feast day is May 15 and she is the patron saint of those who suffer from mental illnesses and nervous system disorders, epileptics, mental health professionals, happy families, incest victims, and runaways.
....I'll keep this medal for myself, it's so strange to become owner of this particular medal at this point in my life. I'll take it as a sign..

The other medal is St. Joseph..."Roman Catholics also believe he prays especially for families, fathers, expectant mothers (pregnant women), travellers, immigrants, house sellers and buyers, craftsmen, engineers and working people in general. Official patronage assigned to him, however, is vague. Numerous geographical locations, some vocations and various circumstances of personal life have been attributed to his patronage"
How interesting is THIS now! I'd love to sell this place and buy a new home...is this another sign?
I don't think my sister knew what all the items in the cookie tin were, but I'm just so astonished they show up at this time :D
The gold pill box is nice, I may keep it.


This is some sweet jewelry that was in the tin,too. I especially love the glass beads.

I just wanted ya'll to see this. Last year HossFly took me to Barnes & Nobles around Christmas time. I saw these cards on clearance and bought them. How cute is this? I can't help but keep picking it up and trying to figure how they made them. They fold flat to mail,too.

Here are some fluffy bows I made. But I haven't bought many gifts!!! LOL I think everyone is going to get handmade gifts. Look at the bright side...I'll have bows ready to go!
